WHITE SWISS WORLD was established in 2021 by design student and White Swiss Shepherd breeder/trainer/enthusiast, Skylar Copeland.

I am a first generation dog show fancier, and my love for competition began in 2014 when I started competing in agility with my white coated German Shepherd, Athena. Athena and I earned many titles in agility and dabbled in junior showmanship, obedience, and rally obedience. In 2018, she broke her leg in a freak accident, and with her future career at an unknown, I brought home my first White Swiss Shepherd, Furrari, a few months later. After developing my skills with Athena and my Australian Shepherd, Ajax, I have been able to do a tremendous amount of training with Furrari and together we've successfully competed in conformation and an array of dog sports, including agility, rally obedience, dock diving, nosework, and weight pull. She is also the foundation of my breeding program, Fireside Fernweh.

Athena sprouted my interest in dog photography, and led me down an expensive path of photo gear and upgrades, but photography remains one of my favorite hobbies. While Athena was the strongest influence on my photography, Furrari was the reason design began calling my name. I started with designing ads for her for fun, and slowly began developing skills in that area while in high school. I am currently a student at Millikin University, majoring in Arts Technology with a focus in visual media. My love of photography and design in combination with the love for the breed and lack of previous publications led to the creation of WHITE SWISS WORLD.

WHITE SWISS WORLD is truly a labor of love, but my hope is that the magazine can serve as a credible and informative source of breed relevant topics. As WHITE SWISS WORLD is still young, we are in the process of developing working practices, and hope that you can remain patient with us while we work to better our website and magazine. We are truly appreciative of the support we have received thus far and look forward to growing with our fellow White Swiss Shepherd enthusiasts!
